Being yourself is important
A.S.V Taste is, with more than 550 members, the largest student association in Enschede. We are a 'studentikoze' association with an open character, where being yourself is the priority.
We are an association where everyone can become a member and where everyone is equal. We have no hierarchy: there is no difference between someone who just joined Taste and a fifth-year member.
Our sociéteit Antigoon is located in the middle of the centre of Enschede in the Pakkerij building at the Oude Markt. Here bar evenings take place, where you have a drink with your year club or fraternity. Do you want to know what this means?

Year clubs
After you have become a member of Taste, you will form a year club in the first few months. Year clubs consist of 8-12 men or women from the same year layer.
Because all year club members are of the same year, we also call this a horizontal (connection).
On Tuesday evening it is year club evening, where you will first eat together and after that come for a beer to our sociëteit Antigoon.
Fraternities
Taste knows 4 male and 3 female fraternities. In your first year, you can get to know these fraternities so you might be asked to become a member of theirs in the next year.
A fraternity consists of approximately 20 active members and many more old members. Every Thursday it is fraternity night. Every fraternity then comes to sociëteit Antoon to have some drinks together.
Committees
Being a member of Taste goes further than just drinking. Taste knows more than 30 committees where you get the opportunity to develop yourself besides your study.
There are different kind of committees: continuous committees which are active throughout the entire year and ad-hoc committees, which work towards a single activity. For example, you can apply for the Actieve Beginners Commissie (ABC) in your first year where you will be organising various activities for members from your year; or for the ROTC, where you will be competing in a sailboat race from the Netherlands to England against multiple other student teams.
Houses
Members don't see each other solely at the sociëteit but also at home on the couch! A.S.V. Taste knows a number of Taste-houses that do activities on a regular base too. In these houses, only members of Taste from different year layers live.
The Taste-houses have drinks together regularly but also have activities within the house. For example, house weekends, Christmas dinners and going to festivals together.
